John J. Acardo currently lives with his wife, Megan, in the City of Sycamore and is running for DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder of Deeds. Incumbent, Sharon Holmes served the County for over 20 years as Clerk and Recorder and decided to not seek re-election in November of 2010.
Biography
John has lived in DeKalb County for nearly a decade, having been born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. John currently works for Hanover Township in Bartlett overseeing human resources and information technology. John carries several awards and certifications in the human resources field, and is pursuing his Master's in Business Administration from Keller.
Growing up in Rockford, he attended Boylan Catholic High School and then Northern Illinois University where he got his degree in political science. After graduation, John went on to work for State Rep. Bob Pritchard as the district office director in Sycamore.
John is a member St. Mary's, Sycamore, and is involved with several community organizations including the Young Professionals of Sycamore, the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary, Knights of Columbus Council 5572, Northern Illinois Trail Runners Association, and the Society for Human Resource Management, Fox Valley Chapter. He also has served on the DeKalb County Board’s Ad Hoc Committee on Open Space and NIU'’s University Council, and remains active in Republican politics as a precinct committeeman, (SY-08), and is a member of the DeKalb County Young Republicans (chairman emeritus), and currently serves as National Committeeman for the Federation of Illinois Young Republicans. |
